Think about the presents

Even though presents do not have a religious meaning, they are also a very important part of the Christmas holiday. If you want a unique and impressive wedding cake you can opt for a cake in shape of a Christmas present. You can use fondant ribbons or bows on the top in order to make it look like a real present. In case of an elegant wedding, a white vanilla cake or even a black one made of dark chocolate would be an excellent choice. Add a beautiful green ribbon or bow. For a less formal Christmas wedding choose a wedding cake with each layer in a different color. Still, make sure the cake matches the entire wedding colors.

Flowers and toppers

Flowers are some of the most popular choices when decorating a wedding cake. The traditional white cake can be turned into a Christmas cake by adding pine cones and holly berries. Also, for a more interesting and special look you can replace the classic bride and groom topper with Ms. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Another charming and out of the ordinary choice would be to custom make a topper with a bride and groom sitting in front of a lovely Christmas tree.

Funny cakes

If you want to have a funny Christmas wedding cake you can opt for one resembling a gingerbread house. This will not only be extremely tasty but also quite delightful and eye-catching. Snowscape cakes are also very well received. Pick out a white butter cream frosting to cover the entire cake. Sprinkle coconut flakes to create the illusion of fluffy snow. A Christmas tree would be perfect as a cake topper

In order to emphasize your Christmas wedding cake you should have the cake table decorated with Christmas ornaments as well. You can create an entire Christmas village with gingerbread people, snowmen and Christmas trees. However, it is important to make sure the ornaments blend harmoniously and do not overburden the cake.
