Tasty Wedding Cakes

Every wedding can have a certain theme and that theme sets the tone. If you are passionate about the Hawaiian culture and you want to incorporate the luau theme at the wedding, then you have to make the wedding cake part of it as well. Luau wedding cakes are actually suitable for any celebration, but when it comes to weddings you can make them look amazing and place interesting decorations on them. The cake will become the main attraction at the wedding, along with the couple of course.

Using Hawaiian flavors is a good idea to spice the cake up. There are certain fruits associated with Hawaii, tropical fruits mainly, such as coconuts, kiwi, pineapples and so on. You can integrate these flavors in your cake. To add sweetness, you can mix pineapples into a yellow cake batter to also enhance texture. Add tropical fruits to the icing of the cake. Use coconut flavor for a white or chocolate wedding cake and you will have a delicious result. To give a festive appearance, sprinkle coconut flakes on the frosted cake.

If you want to choose an unconventional wedding cake, don’t go for the round or square shapes, which are classic. You can have the wedding cake shaped like a hula girl. Use food coloring to add some color to the hula skirt and use flowers to put in value the flowers for her lei. Use seashells made out of fondant as a bra. You can also go to a cake designer and tell what idea you have and let the designer do all the work. Some of the work takes patience and if you don’t have the skills or the time, it is best to get your cake ordered.

How about a really impressive wedding cake? Choose a real steaming volcano cake and you will impress everyone at the party. The base of the cake is a sheet cake and the mountain can be carved from two round cakes. Press a tall drinking glass to form a sturdy base, in the center of the volcano. Frost the cake so that it looks like the ocean and cover the top of the cake with black frosting. You can even decorate lava with red frosting. You can make the volcano blow by adding a few drops of water to the dry ice. Finally, you can always decorate a simple wedding cake with exotic flowers.
