Tasty Wedding Cakes

Weddings usually have themes and they can vary according to what the couple prefers. But when choosing a wedding theme, you need to make sure all elements will blend in and you will stick to it no matter what. The beach is a destination that many couples dream about, but not everyone can have the dream come true. Even if you don’t go to the beach to have the ceremony, you can have a beach inspired wedding and you will at least feel the vibes. There are ocean themed wedding cakes that can match any style of the beach wedding you want to organize and all you need is to pick the right colors and decorations.

Coral is actually a great color for a wedding and a coral motif is in style and fashion for a wedding cake. To create a soft look and an elegant wedding cake, just combine a layer of pale blue fondant with branches of white coral and you will have a big hit. The cake will pop if you place it on a cake board with rich coral sides. For a more bold effect, the white fondant cake can be decorated with bright red sugar paste coral.  Cupcakes have become very popular these days used instead of the traditional wedding cake. A tower with tiny cakes can be a different perspective. Use yellow cupcakes, chocolate and marbled, iced with a creamy layer of blue and white frosting and decorate it with seashells and any other sea creatures. You can put a layer of light dusting “sand”, cracker crumbs of course.

When the cake is inspired by beautiful ocean scenes, the couple and the guests will be more than happy. The variation in the cake icing colors can create a stunning effect. The bottom layer can be covered in a dark blue color and gradually the color can lighten up tier by tier until it reaches the top. Rolling waves can be created on the bottom of the cake using swirls of light colored fondant. Use icing to place dots around each tier and use decorations like seahorses, seashells and iced bubbles. This will definitely be a cake everyone can just wait to taste.

Pearls have always been classic accessories and sophisticated elements on any woman wearing them. The bride can have them as wedding jewelry and the cake as well. Of course, don’t think about using real pearls for cake decorations, use gum paste instead.
