Despite of the traditions and everyone telling that white wedding cakes are a must, you don’t have to stick to them. Nowadays couples tend to do things differently and they have the possibility of choosing from various ideas and possibilities. It is not necessary to stick to classic, because a little twist at weddings will even wake people up. At your wedding you can be as weird and out of the ordinary as you like. Just follow your instincts, what you like and don’t go for the traditional cakes. Here are some weird wedding cake ideas you can get inspired from.

Weddings are now based on themes and you can design the cake according to the theme of the wedding. Many Star Wars fans apply the movie to their wedding and you can have the cake decorated with planets, stars, space ships and more. You can even design the same ship from the movie as your wedding cake. A NASCAR themed wedding can involve a car wedding cake. There was even a couple who loved fast food and instead of the wedding cake, they decided to have a huge burger, so everyone could feast on it. That is one idea you can put in practice as well, even if it is not the healthiest one.

The colors for the wedding cake don’t have to be classic, like white or ivory, choose the colors your heart desires. You can even go with a Gothic wedding if you are both fans of Goth music and choose a red deep cake with black accents on it. For a sea inspired theme, an aqua blue colors works perfectly. Many safari lovers incorporate their passion into the wedding cake and they even choose dark green for the cake and decorate it with lots of greenery and animal toppers. Integrate your hoppy and your passion at the wedding and make the cake be a perfect blend with everything else.

As for the shape, round and square don’t need to be for you, think of anything else. Mix various shapes like circles, hearts, and stars or develop a wedding cake shaped like something you love. For instance, at a medieval themed wedding, you can use Bundt cakes cut into pieces to create the mighty dragon. If you really want something weird, give up the traditional wedding cake completely and go with Ding Dongs shaped as a wedding cake or Twinkies, fruit pies or a giant banana split.
